I’m Sara Barnes.  I hate having my picture taken.  But I love iced coffee.

And I love photography.  Not just because I get to capture the tiniest moments that would be gone forever if they hadn’t been documented.  Not just because I know exactly how awkward it feels to be in front of the camera and I love making people feel as good as I do behind the camera.  Not even because staying up late editing photos gives me an excuse to drink more iced coffee… (I have three kids ages three and under, the last thing I need is an excuse for more coffee!)

I love photography because you can control everything and you can’t control anything all at the same time!  I love driving to a session obsessing over how amazing the cloud cover is and imagining how I’ll use that lighting to my advantage, only to pull up to the location and watch the clouds roll away to reveal a perfectly sunny sky.  I love planning a million fun poses for a family portrait and then spending the majority of the session trying to get the family to keep up with a very feisty two year old just to get them in the same frame.  I love photography because it never gets old.  And I won’t lie, I love it for the iced coffee too!
